Vrrroom!

Finally picked up the new toy last weekend - A Honda Shadow 750cc professional trike conversion - and went for a spin. I was nervous at first as its been a few years since I was on 2 wheels and never ridden on 3. After a slight 'errk' start where I realised that turning this beast took effort and indeed both sides of the road *cough* I got into the groove.
Sooo.. Riding a trike then. Its very different to 2 wheels. Firstly because the 'bike' part is in the bit of road that is rarely used - ie the middle - the vibration coming up through the handlebars can be quite intense.. Especially as to start with I was gripping onto them for dear life. I was fine with road positioning and actual riding was a breeze. Going much above 60mph wasn't easy though. The bike is quite high for a cruiser and the wind buffeting along with the vibration was a little 'too' interesting as I notched towards 70. In the end I got comfy at 60 and told myself its not meant to be fast its meant to be 'cool'. I got to grinning after about 5 miles or so. After my first spin it was time for the GF to get on the back. That took more getting used to as the bike handled differently again. Plus the GF had to get used to sitting up high and far back. Nothing to hold onto except a little leather strap! She got to grinning stupidly after a bit though so much fun was had.
Tourings a no-no with the vibration levels on RSI-impaired arms, but bombing around Oxfordshire on days out will be grand. Now about this weather...

Vroom! Vroom!
I await the "Droods World Tour of Oxfordshire" dvd with anticipation.
That's such a cool bike! But the thought of being perched on that back seat thing, holding on to just a strap...
Chia is a brave woman.
Nice :)
