Survey

House survey is Tuesday..

Tentatively started packing this weekend. Well the GF did most of it as I am rather encumbered with Labyrinthitus at the moment. Rather an interesting disorder. Kind of like being drunk but without the fun (I'm a cheap date at the moment, all the stumbling around and no alcohol required!) Also I go almost totally deaf if there is a multitude of noise, thus making even going food shopping an uncomfortable experience.

Its surprising how quickly one can become rather agoraphobic. In the house for a week and sounds all very blocked and distant when I go out. I can't hear conversations, or road crossings, just a general sort of hum unless I really concentrate. It makes one feel very disconnected to the world at large and certainly changes my perspective.

Funny thing really.. I've been on just about all forms of transport known to man from the usual planes, trains and automobiles to crossing the north sea in middle of winter on a ferry, being stuck in a tuk-tuk in Singapore holding on for dear life (those people have no fear!), camels, elephants, Giant turtles (ok maybe not the turtles) and have never suffered travel sickness. Now with the inner ear thing I'm on anti-seasickness pills.

Anyway, fingers crossed the survey goes ok and things can finally get moving.

Christmas

Christmas managed to achieve the impossible. I am now so sick of chocolate that I don't want to even 'see' any for a long long time. Quite useful as with a sense of relief, I am going back on the diet. A 5lb gain over the Xmas weeks needs to be removed quick smart.

No official New Years resolution for me. I am just hoping that by the end of January I shall be mostly packed and planning my move into the GF's flat. Then after that first move which will be 3 weeks of clothes, my PC and a couple of favourite books, we can prepare for the big move after her flat is sold. With all the interest in 'buy-to-rent' there is at the moment, a 2 bed place not far from the M4 shouldn't be on long.

Then the trials, tribulations, joys and frustrations of a big move somewhere south of Oxford (but commutable). Not to mention the long speech I was planning to say to the current housemate which has now been distilled to... "Sling yer hook!"

Now just mild panic about the upcoming survey on my place.
